Vaco is hiring a Construction Accountant
Location: Delray Beach
Schedule: Onsite
Industry: Construction
Compensation: $70-$80/annually

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist with a background in construction accounting. This role will handle AIA billing , manage WIP schedules , and work heavily within ERP systems to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, collections, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and familiar with the complexities of project-based billing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process AIA billing applications and schedule of values.
  • Maintain and update Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports in coordination with project managers and leadership.
  • Monitor receivables and follow up with clients to ensure timely collections.
  • Reconcile AR accounts and ensure accurate posting of payments.
  • Manage lien waivers, change orders, and retainage tracking.
  • Collaborate with project managers and operations on billing status and project progress.
  • Utilize ERP/accounting systems for data entry, reporting, and invoice processing.
  • Assist with month-end close activities related to revenue and AR.
  • Support audits and provide documentation as needed.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of Accounting experience within the construction industry .
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, CMiC, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of AIA billing processes.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing WIP schedules .
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Familiarity with lien laws, contract billing, and project accounting.
