
Dr. Mutahar Ahmed
is the Director of the Center for Bladder Cancer at Hackensack University Medical
Center and Professor of Urology at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. He also serves as
Director of the Robotic Oncology Fellowship at New Jersey Urology/HUMC. His clinical and academic
focus includes urologic oncology, robotic surgery, and complex reconstructive urology.
An early adopter and innovator in minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Ahmed has performed over 5,000
robotic procedures, including more than 1,500 using the da Vinci SP (single-port) platform—placing him
among the highest-volume pure single-port robotic surgeons globally. He was also among the first in the
Northeast to perform robotic intracorporeal neobladder reconstruction.
Dr. Ahmed is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and regularly invited to speak at national and
international conferences. His contributions to robotic urologic oncology and reconstruction have earned
him consistent recognition as a “Top Doctor” and established him as a thought leader in the field.
