NCA's mission is to tr ain the minds and improve the hearts of students through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Substitute teachers work on an on-call/per diem/as needed basis

2. Reports in person to the school building to provide face-to-face instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans provided by the absent teacher

3. Follow teaching plans with skill and fidelity

4. Creates a classroom environment that is safe, orderly, conducive to learning, and consistent with the mission values and virtues of the school

5. Maintains established procedures of the school and classroom

6. Comply with all relevant school policies and state and federal laws and regulations

7. Adhere to the school’s dress code as outlined in the employee handbook

8. Manage a classroom in such a way as to create an atmosphere characterized by order, respect, wonder and joy

9. Cultivate good habits among students through explicit instruction and personal example

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required

2. Higher education preferred 

3. Ability to work on-call or as needed

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

5. Experience with classical, liberal arts education and the ability to hold students accountable to a high standard of conduct
