Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced, proactive Social Media Manager focused exclusively on Instagram for a minimum 3-month contract, with potential for extension. This role is based in the Cincinnati area and requires local availability for in-person content shoots and client meetings. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for clients, lead a small team of Social Media Assistants, and ensure all deliverables meet Scroll Media’s standards. You’ll receive guidance from Scroll Media leadership and play a key role in driving measurable results for our clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about elevating small business brands on Instagram.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instagram Strategy: Develop and execute strategies tailored to client goals, audience, and KPIs—exclusively for Instagram.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact, proactively managing expectations and delivering excellent service.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of 1–2 Social Media Assistants, ensuring high-quality output and growth.
  • Content Oversight: Plan, produce, and review all Instagram content, including Reels, Stories, Carousels, and static posts.
  • Content Shoots & Editing: Organize and direct local content shoots; edit short-form video content for Instagram, maintaining brand voice and visual consistency.
  • Performance Analytics: Track, analyze, and report on Instagram performance; use insights to optimize content and strategy.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay current on Instagram trends, features, and best practices, bringing new ideas to clients and the team.
  • Community Engagement: Foster authentic engagement by managing DMs, comments, and monitoring brand reputation on Instagram.
  • Campaign Execution: Plan and deliver Instagram campaigns, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement workflow and communication enhancements for Instagram management.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all Instagram content aligns with Scroll Media’s creative and strategic brand voice.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Instagram Management: Proven experience managing Instagram accounts in a client-facing or agency setting.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor a small team.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple clients and priorities.
  • Video Production: Advanced skills in shooting and editing Instagram Reels and Stories.
  • Content Creation: Excellent writing and visual storytelling abilities specific to Instagram formats.
  • Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of Instagram features, trends, and best practices.
  • Analytics & Scheduling Tools: Proficient with Instagram, Iconosquare, Plann, and HubSpot for analytics, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Creative Tools: Skilled with Canva, Edits, and CapCut for content creation and video editing.
  • Client Presentation: Confident presenting Instagram strategies and results to clients.
  • Community Management: Experience fostering engagement and managing brand reputation on Instagram.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new Instagram tools and adapt to evolving platform features.
  • Collaboration: Strong communicator who thrives in a small, entrepreneurial team and values feedback.
  • Local Availability: Based in the Cincinnati area and able to attend in-person content shoots and meetings as needed.
