We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team! You will oversee the activities of a team of production workers at a growing meat processing company.

This is a 1st shift opportunity with a start time of 4am. Overtime and weekend availability is a must.

This position requires the ability to work in a cooler/freezer environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the daily activities of the production and operation teams
  • Delegate production assignments to appropriate teams and personnel
  • Place production orders from customers
  • Inspect all materials and equipment to detect malfunctions
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Develops methods for tracking individual and production department performance in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency, productivity and costs.
  • Reviews production requirements and daily production schedule to ensure orders are filled on time and complete.
  • Oversees a production shift in the absence of a shift supervisor.
  • Continually reviews production methods and recommends improvements.
  • Develops the production department budgets and coordinates with other departments heads to develop a company budget.
  • Coordinates with Merchandizing department on inventory numbers.
  • Monitors labor cost on all production departments.
  • Supervises, trains, coaches, develops, and disciplines direct reports.
  • Monitors all items used in production and uses judgement and discretion to eliminate waste and preserve resources.
  • Understandings and reviews daily production schedule and makes necessary adjustments if needed to ensure orders are filled timely and completely.
  • Oversees and monitors production at all times during shift.
  • Pursues productivity improvement to be cost competitive in the market.
  • Monitors the labor costs for each department during the shift and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Plans ahead to by scheduling labor to ensure fulfillment of orders and maintaining stock levels.
  • Proposes and implements change for production to be more efficient.
  • Follows, impalements, enforces and trains employees on safety guidelines established by the safety department.
  • Motivates his team by creating a positive work environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or other related fields (4+ years)
  • Knowledge of production tools and equipment
  • Strong leadership qualities and prior experience in a management role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational and communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
  • Ability to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Ability to manage, lead and supervise more than two employees.
  • Ability to create a strong team and look to the future for opportunity.
  • Ability to follow Company policies and procedures and safety requirements.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must have good judgement with the ability to prioritize and coordinate projects
  • Ability to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in the production line.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English language (read & write).
