Job Title: Painter

Job Description

As a painter, you will work inside an electrical plant or at the shop. Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning up areas, prepping for painting, and using hand and power tools for various tasks. You will also be engaged in brush and roll painting, mixing, and prepping areas. This role requires work within confined spaces, hot environments, and at heights. This is on a 1st shift position making $22/23 to start!

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare areas for painting and other tasks.
• Use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
• Perform brush and roll painting, as well as mixing and prepping areas.
• Operate within confined spaces and at heights.
• Wear full suits and full face respirators as needed.
• Travel between Jacksonville and Palatka with valid license and transportation.
• Train in spraying, blasting, and applying epoxy coatings.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of construction experience.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable with fall protection and working at heights.
• Experience with blasting, epoxy, reach lifts, and spray guns.
• Willingness to work in industrial settings, including shipyards and high altitudes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Previous experience in construction environments.
• Experience with painting, blasting, or working with epoxy or resin.
• Comfort with working in small spaces.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends during shutdowns.

Work Environment

Work begins at 6:30 AM until tasks are completed, with potential weekend work, especially during shutdowns. Expect to work long hours, up to 60-70 hours a week during shutdowns, and up to 16-hour days. The environment can be hot, with tight spaces, and may require working at heights on scaffolding or within a hot production shop. You may need to wear a respirator and should be comfortable shaving facial hair if necessary.

This is a Contract position based out of Palatka, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
