Barnes & Noble College is seeking dynamic, friendly, and customer-focused team members to work temporarily in our Shipping & Receiving department for a period of 90 days or less. In Shipping & Receiving you will spend the majority of your time between a warehouse setting and the sales floor ensuring the store has the products to service our customers.
Responsibilities include: assisting with shipments, orders, and invoicesverifying all for accuracy; packing, sealing, labeling, or affixing postage to prepare materials for shipping; using hand tools, power tools, online shipping services, or postage meters; maintaining a working knowledge of all departments in the store to be able to greet and provide support to customers and team members; shelving, arranging, and categorizing stock according to specific criteria; cleaning the store and warehouse to maintain a safe and efficient work floor; providing periodic assistance with processing sales transactions; routine housekeeping including dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, and trash removal.
Physical demands include frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products; ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; frequent lifting; and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Qualifications include being a minimum of 16 years of age, having a friendly personality with strong communication skills, outstanding customer service skills, basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills, and flexibility in scheduling.
