Job Title: Lumber Trader

Location: Calgary SE, Alberta, Canada

Who You Are:

You are a bilingual, dynamic, and proactive individual with a keen ability to anticipate needs and challenges. You adapt swiftly to changing environments. We are seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial individual to join our trading team and take on significant responsibility for driving business growth. The Lumber Trader will cultivate and sustain a dynamic and thriving sales pipeline by leveraging strategic prospecting, engaging in effective cold calling, and passionately promoting our exceptional lumber products. This effort encompasses the entirety of the Canadian market, and also with a particular focus on driving growth and fostering strong connections within the Quebec division.

This role involves analyzing market trends, negotiating contracts, and managing key accounts to drive long-term growth. Several years of trading experience and a potential book of business as well as a strong phone sales skills are required. Valuing confidentiality and trust, you are committed to hard work and excellence in all endeavors.

Your proactive nature and ability to swiftly adapt to changing circumstances will be essential. Proficiency in both French and English is essential, enabling seamless communication and collaboration across diverse teams and markets. This bilingual capability ensures effectiveness in fostering relationships and delivering excellence within Canada's multilingual environment, particularly catering to the unique needs of our Quebec division.

Responsibilities:

Prospect and cold call to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring ongoing achievement of sales targets.

· Actively promote lumber and wood products to customers across North America daily.

· Analyze lumber market trends and provide valuable insights to both customers and team members.

· Accurately establish sales and purchase pricing while negotiating contracts with suppliers and customers.

· Quickly gain a deep understanding of the flow of goods and trade within North America for bulk commodity products.

· Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts, including purchasing managers and company owners, ensuring long-term business growth and customer satisfaction.

 

Must Have:

Minimum of 3 years of lumber trading experience

· A university degree is an asset, though equivalent business experience will also be considered

. Fluency in French and English is vital for meeting the unique needs of the Quebec market and beyond

· Strong phone sales skills and a proven track record of successful cold calling are highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, In-Person
