We are searching for a Fashion Designer to join our amazing team. This position is primarily responsible for designing, developing, selecting, and approving materials, trims, silhouettes, colors, and patterns. You enjoy how it all comes together and seeing what people buy. The Fashion Designer should be an energetic collaborator with an adaptable communication style and a passion for continuous improvement. A strong candidate for this role is self-motivated, adaptable to creative feedback, and has a passion for product design concepts and development for the customer.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, development, selection and approval of trims, silhouettes, swatches, colors, and patterns for the dress and tops collection category
Support the design director, trend & technical design teams in developing and executing a strategic vision, with a progressive, customer centric approach all while delivering sales and profit objectives
Extensively research creative ideas, newness and innovations in dress and tops novelty and propose concepts for each season
Design and sketch in line with creative direction and merchandising plans to ensure brand aesthetic and commercial goals are aligned
Collaborate with merchandise, PD/sourcing, and technical design teams cross-functionally
Prepare line and presentation materials for strategy reviews including color/ concept boards
Ensure designs meet merchant line plans, assortment strategies and overall creative concept direction
Interpret specific color palettes, patterns and prints for the season into the appropriate bodies, engineer patterns when necessary
Utilize AI for new novelty designs
Input style creation into PLM
Create line sheets for categories
Compile design development packages and work with technical design to get specs and details, review development samples for correct execution and attend fit sessions to ensure integrity of design combines with proper fit for production
Other responsibilities as needed
Experience/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in design preferred
4+ years of fashion industry design experience required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Adobe Photoshop Illustrator, and Procreate
Advanced visual and written communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to present strong critical thinking skills to appropriately solve design decisions
Strong color and print sense; ability to view and differentiate the color spectrum
Demonstrated creative ability with sketching, photoshop and illustrator
Proven ability to create development tech packs/design layouts
Proficiency in computer applications, MS office and Excel
Presentation and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines
