Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed estimates for demolition and excavation scopes.
* Perform site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary field data.
* Quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to develop accurate, competitive bids.
* Identify potential cost risks and value engineering opportunities.
* Track and maintain historical cost data for future reference.
* Prepare and present bid packages and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
* Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and availability.

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience estimating construction projects, with a focus on demolition and excavation.
* Strong understanding of construction means and methods, materials, and applicable regulations.
* Proficient in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Self-motivated and able to manage multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines.
* Valid driver's license; occasional site visits required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience estimating for government or municipal contracts.
* OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
