Someone with experience setting up food service areas, preparing food, and maintaining proper food storage conditions is desired. An interest in learning and prior work experience in the food industry are ideal qualities for the position. We need someone who can perform well under pressure, can prioritize their tasks, and can work well with others. This is a part-time position in our 30-bed Assisted Living Facility. This position is open right now if that sounds like you! Compensation: $17.50 hourly Responsibilities: Control the grill and cook the food in accordance with the directions on the meal order slips or in verbal instructions Adhere to established storage and waste control standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to ensure quality food is served Wash, cut, dice, chop, and slice food items to stock prep stations Use thermometers to check that food has reached an appropriate temperature before serving it Sweep, mop, clean countertops, and wipe down all used surface areas at the end of each shift Keep all workstations, counters, cooking equipment, and refrigerators clean and sanitary according to health and safety rules Cook meals as posted on weekly menu and prepare alternative meals Qualifications: Must have excellent time-management skills and be able to prioritize and multitask Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers Candidates need a strong understanding of compliance with kitchen safety and food storage requirements Prior fast food or quick service restaurant industry experience is highly desired Possesses a strong work ethic and have high attention to detail About Company Stuarts Draft Retirement Community is a locally owned and operated senior living community in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.
