Your Impact

We’re seeking a strategic, creative, and deeply plugged-in Community & Social Media Manager to help define and grow Inworld’s presence across developer and enthusiast communities. This role blends community building with social storytelling and is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of internet culture, emerging AI technology, and developer engagement.

You’ll own Inworld’s social channels and community touchpoints end-to-end, playing a key role in driving brand affinity, product awareness, and user engagement. You’ll partner closely with product, developer relations, and marketing teams to build authentic narratives, amplify product launches, and cultivate developer enthusiasm around our AI framework and open-source contributions.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be more than just a great communicator, you must be able to understand and engage with technical audiences, translate complex ideas into compelling content, and speak the language of builders with authenticity.

Inworld is breaking new ground in AI infrastructure for real-time, adaptive experiences and we’re not following a traditional script. You’ll help shape the voice and tone of a new category, build community momentum from the ground up, and spark conversations that set the internet ablaze.

What you’ll do

Community strategy & engagement

  • Design and implement a community strategy to grow, engage, and support developers, builders, and AI enthusiasts across Discord, GitHub, forums, and other relevant platforms.
  • Moderate and maintain a healthy, vibrant community environment, fostering meaningful connections, surfacing product feedback, and escalating key insights to internal teams.
  • Plan and host both online and IRL activations (AMAs, live streams, meetups, and more).
  • Engage meaningfully with technical conversations, whether it’s answering questions, translating product updates, or facilitating feedback loops with engineers.

Social media strategy & execution

  • Own and operate Inworld’s social media channels (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) from planning and content creation to publishing, community management, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop original, high-performing content around product launches, open-source releases, developer education, and thought leadership.
  • Translate technical breakthroughs into culturally relevant moments with memes, threads, demos, and experiments that resonate across developer and AI communities.

Measurement & optimization

  • Set clear KPIs for social and community growth, and use data to test, learn, and iterate.
  • Track performance across platforms and campaigns, and distill insights into actionable recommendations.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with product, engineering, and comms teams to ensure our social and community efforts are aligned with roadmap priorities and product launches.
  • Support PR, events, and brand initiatives with tailored social extensions and real-time coverage.

What you’ll bring

  • 4-7+ years of experience in community management, social media, or developer advocacy, ideally at a startup, devtools company, or open-source project.
  • Strong technical fluency, you don’t need to write code, but you should be comfortable reading technical docs, understanding AI concepts, and translating complex ideas into accessible, engaging content.
  • Deep familiarity with developer culture, internet culture, and the dynamics of online communities.
  • Experience growing and engaging technical audiences across platforms like Discord, Twitter/X, Reddit, GitHub, and YouTube.
  • A strong editorial eye and ability to craft copy, memes, creatives and messages that inform, entertain, and resonate.
  • Comfort working across teams, managing multiple priorities, and operating with autonomy in fast-moving environments.
  • A builder’s mindset, bias for action, appetite for experimentation, and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Experience using AI tools to enhance content creation and community engagement.

In-office location: Mountain View, California, United States. Candidates must be based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate (you will be working on-site in our South Bay office a few days a week).

The United States base salary range for this full-time position is between $120,000 - $190,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
